Currently, one of the most sought after kitchen trends is a two-toned kitchen, and we are here for it! This is not only because it creates a visually appealing aesthetic, but because it can also give an illusion of space to smaller areas. The traditional idea of having all matching cabinetry has gone out the door as more and more people seek to use two different coloured cabinets. Ikea's door style "Axstad" has two colours, navy blue and matte white, that are the perfect combination for a two-toned kitchen.
The white wall cabinets are brighter and reflect light, which naturally draws your attention upwards and makes this small space seem bigger than it actually is. To further this affect we used the Ikea farm sink with a light countertop and backsplash. This also highlights the gorgeous live edge eating bar, which started as a raw piece that had been passed down in our clients family. This was an important piece with sentimental value, and so we wanted to make it the focal point of the room.
